what these news reports are failing to acknowledge is that headset screens cannot convey depth and distance. we have evolved to be able to focus on things near and far, things we're not directly looking at is supposed to appear blurry. however, the real-time image is set at a fixed distance from your face, and everything around you is flat and in focus. this is the main reason some people start to feel side effects from prolonged use.
That's why I never buy any new tech once it debuts. Companies are likely gonna improve and correct a lot of the issues and faults on the original. Sometimes reducing the price too.
The nearest safe focal point for the human eyes is not so close to the face with binocular vision eyes like ours, it is more like 1 foot away, so I think headsets will just cause bed eyes strain and even vision problems. Want proof? Hold us your finger in front of your face and notice the strain focusing on it.
VR is not for everyone. You can’t fit billions of peoples face with one single design. I owned quest 2 from the day one they launched. But had to spend extra $ to make it fit my face. Aftermarket had band that weight balances your goggle so it won’t be front heavy. Buying like 3 different types of goggle trims that touches your face. One wasn’t better than this other but it took me 3 different brands to find one that fits me comfortably. Even after that it was uncomfortable. They’re still lots of issues but it’s better than when you bought it and you deal with it because stuff you could do with VR is just insane esp. the price point of Quest 2 was $299 when I bought it. VR isn’t for everyone.
Even the PS VR gives me headaches or eye strain when I wear it too long. So I'm not surprised some people are facing the same problems with the Apple Vision.
Not surprised at all. This is what happens when you rush through production without taking the time to get it right.
Something Steve Jobs was meticulous at with his products before releasing them.
Just because something can be carried does not mean it's appropriate to use it in public. If someone sat down at a restaurant table and started playing a movie on their phone or whatnot, it would be inappropriate and rude. This is not a device to use while interacting with other people face to face.
Why are they buying Apple products in the first place? They're ridiculously expensive and they're literally programmed to break after not even a year... And you can't repair any of their stuff because it'll stop working. I saw a video with these exact stupid glasses and you can't even swap one genuine apple part for another genuine apple part or they will just completely stop working... I just don't get why some people are obsessed with Apple....
I mean i hate seeing all of those calls and notification on my phone,... leave me alone.. and yet they offer product where can put it on next to my retina
It’s not cuz it’s ridiculously overpriced and everyone is poor? It’s a ridiculous clunky device and it’s only gonna do more harm to society and humanity like all of apple’s products!
- Expensive - costs more than the latest iPhone and Macbook combined, but can't replace either
- Solo experience - isolates you from others, can't participate with friends and family in a meaningful way
- Limited uses - very limited app ecosystem, just a handful of apps, most for entertainment purposes solely
- Zero productivity - conference calling is a novelty due to virtual avatar use - definitely wouldn't use in a professional setting like board meetings, HR, etc; screen mirroring less practical than a dedicated monitor
- Uncomfortable - weight become apparent after just 20 mins of use, neck strain after 40 mins, runs hot
So buying electronics is now called “an investment”? Come on, this is like truck buyers say that their truck is an investment because they used it once to pickup a big TV.
Another dumb Apple product for rich people. No sane working class person is going to spend 3700 dollars after taxes on this unnecessary toy. Apple’s greed has caused them to lose their minds.
Almost $4k is wild atleast the quest is more affordable lol just like the new apple headphones that everyone is buying for $550 my old airpods do the same thing or my old Beats Solo 2 do the same for cheaper
It’s not a regular consumer product after all. Sure apple aware of ppl will return it, but those influencer sure give apple ton of free advertising. Good investment for apple

What else would you expect from a first gen SMH
