Completely agree. Despite being the most premium devices, I don't see any of the 3 companies prioritizing them at all. We SHOULD be getting white glove treatment in support, both hardware and software. But nope, they have our money and they don't care. I think Samsung cares the most and Google is mid and OnePlus has been on the terrible side. If OnePlus wants repeat customers, they have to 100% up their game on the software side. Android 14 lagging this bad in terms of release is an absolutely bad look and does not bode well. I'm doubting my Open will ever get 15 before the stated support timeline is done.

I'm holding out on a foldable until someone gets all in one package. Full-size front screen, wireless charging, competitive cameras, ect.

It's a little tough with the pixel fold feeling left out with new features like having to side load AI wallpapers. Most of the "new features" they have dropped were either announced and launch and didn't ship right away or are minor UI improvements that people complained weren't present despite other foldables having them for the last 4 years. So that does sting a little. I can't really complain about performance or photos though I just worry Google is more concerned with their mass market devices and not the boutique foldable. I imagine it's a much smaller team working on the large screen stuff there.

I too don't see myself going back to a slab phone. I love the OnePlus Open. Personally, I'd like to see brighter screens, better cameras and a big jump in battery capacity. Foldables should be packing 5500-6000mah batteries. And yeah, software support isn't at all where it should be. I also agree with the sentiment about customer service / support being questionable at best. Also, can every device moving forward, especially foldables, please incorporate Samsungs new antireflective screen tech?!

It drives me crazy every time I see someone saying you should never spend that much money on a phone! I mean I get foldables aren't for everyone, but how I choose to spend money isn't a topic I feel like debating. Value is, at the end of the day, a subjective topic.

Camera is the main one for me. While I have gotten some great shots out of my Z Fold 5, for that price it's absolutely reasonable for people to want S23 Ultra cameras on a foldable.

What upsets me is we pay premium prices for the foldables and then the OEM offer insulting trade in like Samsung offer $600 for pixel fold for 24 ultra.

The worst part about the customer service from Google (In The Netherlands at least) is that the people you talk to have like 0 experience with phones, software or a technical background. It's like you got a typical housewife on the line who just got hired for a 16 hours a week callcenter job. It's terrible to (Try) to explain a problem when they don't know what you are talking about or what to do with it. Once I had problems with my MacBook and they guys from Apple KNOW what they're talking about and 5min later the problem was resolved..

I love my Oneplus Open. However, they suck when it comes to OS updates. We should have Android 14 by now. This is my biggest downfall to OnePlus. They need to do better in this area if they plan to beat the competition. I have the Zfold5 as well and the updates are great but I am not a fan of the cameras and front screen. The S24 have the best camera and cost less than Zfold5.

I want to buy a foldable phone, I REALLY do, but i've seen a TON of used foldables with the crease being EXTREMELY noticeable with daily use. I would love to get one, and trade it in every year to avoid the crease being more and more noticeable with each year, but I cannot afford that. I wouldn't mind sticking with it either, but it feels like I would HAVE to get insurance JUST for the foldable. I'm not sure, If I can see a good used foldable with alright screen I'll buy it used just to get used to the crease, but i cant be spending 1200+ for phones.

I had a Pixel Fold replaced and I have to say it was a surprisingly smooth and easy experience. My device developed a bulge in the crease. Initially they wanted to replace it but ended up replacing it. New degice arrived next day, sent my old device back the day after and three days later everything was done and dusted.

Seems to be more of an impatient video more than anything else. The cameras I feel are hardware limitations...I guess Samsung could put a huge unsightly bulging camera set up on it like oneplus did......Also oneplus is a significantly smaller company than Samsung and Google and have a smaller footprint in the West so it's undoubtedly going to take longer for updates especially in the Western market....and lastly you want a time frame for specific updates..sometimes the companies don't even know themselves..its never a good idea to promise a date and not come through..people are going to complain regardless

One of the most annoying things about oneplus open is it being a BIG dust/flint attracter which is not a comforting thought of knowing that it is collecting in and around the hinge. Consequently, I think it will affect the longevity of this foldable.

I'm with you, never going back to bar phones. I absolutely love my Samsung Fold 4. Updates come monthly for the most part, the multitasking is top notch thanks to the Good lock suite of apps, the tweaking is great too, especially for tinkerers and those who like to deep dive their settings and options. I do hope the food 6 ultra has a wider front and inner screen, not a fan of the tall narrow one, I almost never use it anymore. It's gonna be a toss up whether I move to the Google fold 2 next time or upgrade to the Samsung fold 6 ultra... But foldable 1000%

i got the OnePlus open and the inner screen is nice but i honestly think i shouldve gone with the 12 as i dont benefit from the bigger screen.

Yeah I think foldable phones are great for sedentary people or if you have a kind of a sedentary lifestyle I'm not trying to mock anybody here but if you're an active person the phone doesn't make any sense and it's great that with Android we have choice. Would be great if there was a little bit more choice on the smaller phones cuz it really is just the s24 and maybe the ZenFone 10 and that's about it at least here in the States. Anyway good video even though I probably will never buy a folding phone but you never know

I think only the oneplus open gives you value for money camera wise. Your bang on the money saying Samsung and google are not giving us their best camera hardware. I have taken some extremely good pics and videos with mine but one plus are unbelievably slow with their updates which is very frustrating. I hope oxygen 14 comes real soon to uk

I have my s23 Ultra but I'm looking at the pixel fold 2 and z fold 6 next year . Samsung after observing One Plus Open, Huawei mate x5 and Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche edition there's no excuse for no s pen on inner screen and outer screen , larger front screen, extra better speakers , 5 x zoom minimum, better Design , bigger better battery especially at a higher price point
